Patina Boho Desk ~ blue & green, art nouveau style desk in rusted copper & stained wood

   This boho style desk has been done in stained wood with a rusted copper, patina finish. All blue & green hues were achieved through the copper paint’s oxidizing process.

~ Refinishing Process ~

   This boho desk has been sanded down, stained & then painted with copper & iron oxidizing paints. A rust accelerator has then been applied to the painted portions of the desk. The rust accelerator reacts to the copper & iron particles within the paint, creating a rusted, patina finish on the wood. 

   The entire desk has been sealed, inside & out, with a clear coat finish for added durability.

   Like any vintage piece this desk has tiny dings in the wood. These have been intentionally left when refinishing to add to the desks shabby chic, weathered style. 

   The drawers have full extension, soft close, ball bearing drawer slides. This means that all the drawers open & close extremely smoothly. The drawer faces on the left side of the desk are attached to form a cabinet door & open to reveal a larger storage area with two shelves. The bottom shelf slides out for easier access.

   The tabletop, middle & lower drawer faces are burl wood & have been stained to bring out the inlaid wood patterns & wood grain. The top middle drawer was originally a keyboard tray that has been modified to function as a normal drawer. The top two drawers, on the left & right sides of the desk, have patina embossed metal that has been laid into the middle of the drawer faces.
