~ Refinishing Process ~

   The outside portion of this vintage hamper has been painted with a deep blue base & lighter blue hues under distressed eggshell white. The hamper has then been sanded down to reveal the layers of color. The accent shades of blue under the white help to give this hamper’s boho style finish a bit more depth. The back of the hamper has been done in the same distressed finish.

   The inside portion of the hamper has been done in a lighter grayish blue tone to compliment the finish on the outside.

   This tall hamper has ornate hinges on the front & a latch to secure the door. All the hardware has been done with a rusted iron finish. Please be aware that there is a tiny portion on the very edge of the latch, where the rusted iron finish has worn off, exposing the metal underneath. This is where the latch hooks into it’s base & is difficult to notice unless you have the cabinet door open. You can see a hint of it in the close up photo of the latch.

   There are metal accents on the top, (the larger one just above the door), & on the bottom, (the circular one on the right hand side), of the hamper. Both of these metal accents have been done in rusted iron to match the hamper’s hinges & latch.

   The back portion of the hamper is perforated to let air through & help keep things from becoming funky, in case you end up putting that laundry off a little longer than expected.

   This shabby chic hamper has been sealed, inside & out, with a clear coat finish for added durability.
